Environment Lead – A Discovery of Witches

At AXIS VFX, I led the environment team on A Discovery of Witches, crafting a richly detailed and historically accurate vision of Elizabethan London.

Key Contributions:

• Team Leadership: Supervised the design and texturing of hundreds of buildings and props, ensuring consistency and quality across assets.

• City Layouts: Developed workflows for large-scale city planning and asset population, integrating period street maps, modern terrain data, and cross-referenced historical sketches.

• Procedural Innovation: Pioneered procedural texturing techniques in SideFX Houdini, streamlining asset creation and maintaining historical detail.

• Foliage and Flora: Created photorealistic plants and trees to enhance the city's natural elements and atmosphere.

Our team seamlessly blended CG environments with in-camera plates, extending physical sets scanned with a Leica BLK 360. The result was a living, breathing Elizabethan London that authentically supported the story's tone and timeline.
